Zine Information
Sugar Crystals is a for-profit, SFW, Genshin Impact Alberose (Albedo x Sucrose) comic anthology zine. An anthology zine is one that feature a multitude of comics following a similar theme or pairing. Sugar Crystals will feature a collection of Alberose-themed comics, both coloured and greyscale ones alike.
This is a fanmade, unofficial Alberose-themed comic anthology and is not affiliated with Hoyoverse in any way.Specs:
- 5 x 7" soft cover physical zine
- Will also be sold digitally
- Will feature 10 comics of 8-10 pages each; they can be coloured or greyscale
- Will feature the corresponding written works for comics an artist and writer collaborated on
- MerchCompensation:
- Profits will first and foremost go towards providing a free physical bundle of the zine for all contributors and mods of this zine.
- Remaining profits will be split amongst the mod team and contributors.

Roles
Mods
The mods team will be responsible for applications, scheduling, budgeting, shipping (if the project is physical), and overseeing the project to ensure everything goes smoothly.
The mod roles are as follows:
- Social Media Mod
- Layout Mod
- Shipping Mod
- Finance Mod
- Art/Merch Mod
- Writer ModMods are also welcome to apply as contributors. Contributor acceptances are separate from mod acceptances.Mod Interns
Mod interns will be paired with a mod of their choosing--as long as the mod is willing to take in an intern.Writers
Writers will be paired with artists to put together a bite-sized Alberose comic (4-10 pages).
Writers can expect proposing a pitch concept, writing a script, and making any necessary changes to ensure their idea fits the zine well and also lies within the comfort zone of the artist.Comic Artists
Artists can choose to work with a writer or work alone. Artists that choose to work with a writer can expect to work closely with their partnered writer to illustrate a comic that fully conveys the story well.
To reduce the stress on the artist, the artist can request for help from a team of assistants. Please refer to the Assistants role below to have a better idea of what they can help with.Assistants
A team of assistants will also be included in the project to alleviate some of the workload from the artists depending on the demand. The comic artist is still expected to put together a clean sketch of the comic at minimum.
Assistants should be prepared to help with at least one of the following:
- Lineart
- Flat colouring (for coloured comics)
- Tones and beta (for greyscale comics)
- Typesetting and straightening panels
- Cleaning
- BackgroundsMerch Artists
This role encompasses the group of artists in charge of designing merch determined by the mods based on the interest check.
Merch artists will indicate beforehand which merch they're most comfortable with making, but will be able to discuss with other merch artists in the project which merch they would like to make.

Isukouhai | Head ModHello, I’m the head mod and the one who organized this project. I like Alberose and like making comics, so I put them together and here we are. Hoping everyone has fun on this project and I’m looking forward to working with everyone. (:
Morri | Art ModHihi! I'm Morri and I'm so excited to be here! Sucrose was one of my first 4*s and she really carried me through the early game and I love her sm aaa. I love Albedo too but he's dodged me on both of his banners so I am still Albedo-less :(
Asteria | Social Media ModMerha! I'm Asteria and I will be your social media mod for this zine. I hope that everyone look forward to the sweet content we're gonna cook up!
Applicant Requirements:
General Guidelines:1. Contributors must be over the age of 15 by the time application results are sent out on 24 March 2022
- If contributor is under 18, they will need a parent/guardian's Paypal in order to receive monetary compensation. Else, it will be donated to charity (TBA).
2. Contributors are expected to not reveal the pieces they have created for the zine on social media, unless directed to by the mod team for zine promotional purposes or until all zines have been shipped.
3. Contributors are expected to not trace or plagiarize.
4. Contributors are expected to meet deadlines or communicate with mods in the event extensions are needed.
5. If, for any reason, a contributor must drop out from the zine at any point in time, their work will not be featured in the zine and they will unfortunately not receive any compensation. Please double check our schedule and ensure you have the time to see this project through.
6. Should the contributor be found promoting questionable/harmful material (including but not limited to: pedophilia, tracing, racism, etc), regardless of the contributor's skills, they will forfeit their position in the zine.
7) All applicants should only submit SFW samples.Comic App Requirements:
Please submit 3 of your best samples, along with a portfolio featuring at least 10 pieces of art. Your best samples and content within your portfolio may overlap. All artworks included must be completed (no sketches/wips)Your portfolio must include:
- One fully rendered comic (can be colored or greyscale)

If you are interested in being an assistant--someone who will be aiding comic artists with things including, but not limited to, base colors, lineart, etc--your portfolio should include the following:
- One sample of lineart

Please submit 3 pieces of writing that are no more than 1000 words in length, they can be excerpts and/or bullet points. We are looking for a good plot and character development as well as dialogue within your work.
